===== From jknepley@chisp.net: Good use of tmaps to put detail on distant object. Everything seem really bright, but I like it... The bridge could have used more fidelity, if that makes sense. Very good scene for the relative technical simplicity. ===== From loomsbury@yahoo.com: Pretty. The bridge just doesn't look right. I like the addition of landing lights on the plane flying overhead. ===== From pmccombs@hotmail.com: Buildings are a bit bright; the sky looks apocalyptic. Maybe work on the clouds a little more, and get those building to blend in. Somehow they look out of place. The bridge is good, as is the watter, but the various lights in the scene seem a little fake - they have halos but don't really illuminate anything. ===== From scarmig@ohmss.com: Wonderful job! Your detailing of the city, and the technique you used is great! I think some of the lights in the city are too bright, and some o the lights on the bridge have halos where others do not. Overall, very well done and one of my favorites! ===== From tony@j4tb.com: I noticed the stars behind the clouds both of which are very nice. The reflection off the water is the best feature I think. The lighting seems inconsistant in the city. The buldings are too bright and the lights on the bridge though a nice touch are too foggy compared to the surrounding area. If you need to build city buildings I would highly recommend Dale Cieslak's CityGen program. (There is a link on the POV-Ray site for his site.)It creates very nice buldings and will export them to a POV file. They aren't too bad on render time either. ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: The lights on the bridge glow too much ===== From jd@surveyor.in-berlin.de: Somehow, the lighting doesn't work together IMO. ===== From christophe.bouffartigue@libertysurf.fr: It was a difficult subject, but you succeeded... Good modelling, lighting seems to be perfect. Strange reflection under the bridge, but... it doesn't hurt so much. Very good Job. ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice looking image... the reflections look very realistic. Something about the wispy clouds that don't look right.... ===== From tom@tomandlu.force9.co.uk: I loved this. Seems a little cramped though. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Very nice overall. Good use of color and lighting to depict a skyline lit up at night. I think the sky could use a little work though... the clouds seem a little off to me, and while I think the sky needs to be somewhat bland in order to show off the skyline, it seems too drab to me. Great scene, though. ===== From annie.kane@mindspring.com: I liked the cloud/star effect and what looks like a plane overhead ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: This almost looks like a photo - good modelling and lighting. The water texture looks just about right - difficult to get it that way. Artistically perhaps a closer view, with les sky would be more impressive. ===== From file: Are cities usually that bright at night? ===== From file: the watewr looks really fine Notable for textures, lighting ===== From file: Great! You sholud work on the sky. Everyting else is perfect. Notable for composition, textures, lighting
