===== From loomsbury@yahoo.com: I really like the way this looks. It's very nice. However, why don't the buildings in the background have any textures? Also, the mountains have too little detail for such a large complex city. ===== From pmccombs@hotmail.com: Really pretty. However, is against the rules to use a paintbrush program to paint textures directly on the the rendered image. Wish I could afford Lightwave. ===== From scarmig@ohmss.com: I must say that the first time I saw this I didn't much like it. I thought the white cities in the background should have been filled in with detail and no doubt others will think the same thing. However since then I have found that I very much like the idea and how you executed it. I looks very much like prototype art that would be presented as a design idea for a new engineering project or building phase. I think you did a great job! I only wish it had been rendered much larger. ===== From tony@j4tb.com: This is pretty neat. The buildings look very good. I particularly like the attention to detail on the lower left city. The road network is cool too. The only criticism is the boat you might want to reduce the size of the boat it seems out of scale. ===== From whhale@nvl.army.mil: Looks unfinished ===== From Stickgod01@aol.com: Sounds like a good idea. We won't have to destroy every inch of forest in the world for the expansion of cities then. I'm a little confused about how this was made... post processing? ===== From christophe.bouffartigue@libertysurf.fr: You have paint your rendering ??????? Sorry, but it's not allowed in this competition... ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Nice image.... Great detail.... The white city in the background seemed a bit out of place. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: This is a nice one. The water texture seems simple, but works well for me. I really like the series of bridges connecting the "islands". I'm not sure about the whiteness of the buildings in the background, though. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: A nice image, but painting objects on in PhotoShop is outside the rules of the competition. ===== From peter@table76.demon.co.uk: The idea is good, but it's against the IRTC's rules to paint on details after rendering :-( . If each building had a texture (even if it was just a few imagemaps applied during rendering) I would have given this more points. ===== From file: Good idea. Notable for originality, composition
