===== From rjhansen@hotbot.com: Nice idea. Your water is awfully grainy appearing. The bears a kind of stiff and posed looking, always a problem with organic shapes. ===== From Stickgod01@aol.com: although the idea and most of this image is well done, proportionally, it's off. The whales tails a ways back huge compared to the polar bears. Whales are big, but not THAT big. ===== From warp@iki.fi: The sky is a bit too simple; the regular bozo pigmented clouds. Doesn't look quite good. The noise in the image is a bit annoying (although doesn't lower the score being an artistic effect). There are square patterns on the heightfield that don't look quite natural. All the bears are identical (except for the size). You should have made them in more different positions. ===== From luisvaloyes@malditasea.zzn.com: Nice, funny image, a cool scene, I guess the water and the sky could be improved, but in generl it's nice. ===== From mark.wagner17@gte.net: Where'd you find a copy of POV-Ray 3.2? The current official version is only 3.1g! ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: Much potential in this scene, good modelling of the animals, water and sky texturing need more attention. You should consider higher resolution heightfields. ===== From jouni@mikrobitti.fi: You're counting a lot on your height fields, which I think deprived the image of some depth and detail. Although the Arctic regions are bare, they probably are not that bare. The water is also a bit bright and clear: wonder if the sea is truly that romantic there? The elements you have introduced into the image provide a good start for the submission, but a true classic could've used some more detailed elements. Yet, it's a nice and artistic view of the polar region. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: This really seems to capture the feel of a barren arctic shoreline. All of the animals looks good, and the land itself is nice, although the way the darker areas show up as somewhat 'rectangular' in spots is a little distracting. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: I really like the poses on the bears, except for the one stiffly tilted on the left side. The birds are good, but the whales seem to be too large, out of proportion. Some pixellation on the height fields. ===== From albiaprime@aol.com: Artistic - The only thing that seems to spoil this picture is the whale tails. Perhaps it is the fact that they contrast so much with the rest of the image that the eye is drawn to them. It may have worked better if the whales had been surfacing with the spray of the blow holes showing. Technical - I like the penguins (oops, I mean albatrosses). The polar bears are not bad although I keep seeing them as sheep :o( especially the one on the extreme right. Concept - Definitely a wilderness. ===== From file: I like it. It makes a very good composition, but that bear on the left, standing on a slope, looks really wrong..
