===== From bfranke2@home.com: I agree, the connection with the topic is a little weak. I like the detail outside the window. For an improvement I would add some detail in the window, like some glass? ===== From rjhansen@hotbot.com: I like the idea, except I think you should have made the picture in the book more prominent in the scene. ===== From tony@j4tb.com: The book, papers and pencil look really nice. A very good first time entry. You are right though it is a little off topic. ===== From javaearl@hotmail.com: Good idea. Very original take on the theme. ===== From warp@iki.fi: If you had invented some better explanation of how this image is connected to the topic I could have perhaps forgiven it, but I just can't. Low score, sorry. The texture on the wall looks too flat. Perhaps some bump-mapping would have helped? ===== From luisvaloyes@malditasea.zzn.com: very good book ===== From dmacisaacj@hotmail.com: I like it, I really do ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: Good work, but really a bit offtopic I like the coloring/lighting of book/papers ===== From jouni@mikrobitti.fi: What can I say? For a first entry you did quite a good job. But as you stated it yourself, being off-topic is a bit too clear. Some miscellaneous points: the pencil is quite shiny and brand new, the book has a bit odd posture and the windowsill is too bare. Keep it up! ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: This is a nice scene... it's a shame the wilderness topic wasn't emphasized more. The book in particular looks good, as does the woodgrain on the desktop. The view outside the window looks good. You might want to consider taking down the shine on the book and the pencil, though, and adding some ridges to the metal band on the pencil would help its realism. Good job overall, though. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Good first effort, and a refreshing change from the other me-too images. ===== From mar@physics.usyd.edu.au: I think this is a good concept, showing the image of wilderness in our modern lives. The scene is a bit bare though. I would have liked to see the book and its scene a little closer, so we can see what sort of landscape you can do, but also to fill out what looks like a good deal of unused space. The table and wall are quite bare - even other items like more books, pens, glasses, would be good. ===== From peter@table76.demon.co.uk: An original idea, but perhaps the book (and its wilderness picture) should be closer to the camera, to give it more emphasis. ===== From albiaprime@aol.com: Artistic - very nice for a first effort - suggestion... add a frame around the window next time Technical - Very good for first effort Concept - not quite a wilderness but an interesting interpretation, partial marks
