TITLE: light falling through leaves NAME: Uwe Post COUNTRY: Germany EMAIL: up@woklo.de WEBPAGE: www.upcenter.de TOPIC: Wilderness COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: light.jpg RENDERER USED: povray 3.1a TOOLS USED: paintshoppro for title text RENDER TIME: 49 min HARDWARE USED: AMD K6-III 400 MHz, 192 MByte, Windows NT 4.0 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: No photorealistic view. I use a camera for those ;-) I captured the atmosphere of a place in untouched nature. You recognize it although I only used boxes and textures and light. Nature was reduced but it still looks like nature. Do you hear the wind in the trees? Do you feel the light falling through leaves? DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Trial and error. Most of the boxes are positioned by random with some formula to bring them to the right place. Originally, I created something like a snake. But then it went into the focus und nobody looked at the trees and the whole place, so I deleted it and put some small rocks at the same place. The whole scene is inspired by the Vallee de Mai national park an Praslin island, Seychelles. No they don't have square trees there. Such things are only in my mind ;-)
