===== From digitalburn@totalise.co.uk: Very nice, I'd prefer it without the border. I like the almost-sepia finish very much. ===== From darwallace@earthlink.net: Needs object variety. Sand, vegetation, birds, whales... take any two. ===== From pbourke@swin.edu.au: It is beautiful, good colouring ===== From wagner-michael@web.de: Quite nice. ===== From panthus@xtra.co.nz: Lovely colouring. Most artists balk at silhouetting the models they have spent all that time making so this is a sure sign of courage. Exceptionally balanced, lit and composed. Very serene. ===== From dvnss@mega.ist.utl.pt: It looks great, but the black and white disguises the obvious lack of detail that would make that scene perfect!! ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Really a nice image.... nice artistic touch. ===== From tony@j4tb.com: An interesting twist having it black and white. Your water though realistic looking seems calm for the ocean. ===== From a.swan@ucl.ac.uk: I really like the fact that it is all in one color - a very rare (if not unique) feature in this round's entries. And it's an extremely good picture too... ===== From angelaperry@webcombo.net: A beuatiful monochromatic scene! The colors and the frame give the picture a very artistic nostalgia, which evokes an earlier time. Although the subject was common to this contest, the picture stands out because of its artistry and technical merit. ~A. Perry ===== From Alain.Culos@bigfoot.com: Yeaaaah ! Except for the much too sharp fall of of the bright spot in the clouds/sky. Or maybe is is too saturated for me. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: This does look nice... the sepia-tone effect was a good choice. The ship and rocks look good. I'm not sure about the texture on the water, though... just doesn't look quite right to me. ===== From peter@table76.demon.co.uk: Ah, Columbus returns :-) . I'd still like to see the galleon better. I like the sepia-toned effect. ===== From sjlen@ndirect.co.uk: A really great looking image. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: For next time, set up a wood frame along the veiwing normal of the camera. Since you are not supposed to add anything visual after the ray-tracer, I gave you a low technical score (signatures are different, in my mind). It has good movement through the picture, and you picked an easy method of attracting attention - a very dark object against a very light one. ===== From file: I like this image a lot, though I could do without the border. The composition is very appealing. The monochrome tone comes across fine. ===== From file: sdf
