JPGFILE: gosea.jpg ZIPFILE: gosea.zip RENDERER USED: megapov 0.5a TOOLS USED: RENDER TIME: 83 hours HARDWARE USED: 15 Dec Alpha computers from Swinburne Astrophysics and Supercomputing Farm, Australia. IMAGE DESCRIPTION: I created the scene about a week before the tragedy with russian submarine "Kursk". After that catastrophe I just changed a bit the shape of sub in order to make it similar to "Kursk". Also I decided to make it from bubbles in order to depict something like sub's soul which consists of souls of mariners. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: All bubble objects are macros. The submarine object was done using several macros for filling sphere, cylinder and cube. The flames and clouds are media. The sea is isosurface. Very simple scene but it was difficult to render this image because it needs a lot of CPU time. I was afraid that I'll not be in time for this round. Paul Bourke kindly agreed to help me to render my scane. He has access to incredible CPU resources at Swinburne University of Technology, Australia. Paul rendered the final image w/o anti-aliasing.
