After a week of rain and clouds my girlfriend and me saw this night the midnight sun for the first time. And it was the right moment to ask her to marry me. She said yes. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This is one of my first scenes with POVRay and the first I used water. The hight field is made by hand with Paint Shop Pro, the texture is "hand-made" (try and error), too. The reddish light reflected by the stones behind us is simulated by another red light source behind the scene. First the sun was made with the "halo"-feature, then changed to "media". There was a lot of work with the clouds, cause the sun should shine through, but parts of the clouds near the sun should be visible. In fact the cloud-sphere lies behind the sun, so they are hidden, but the bright halo around the sun is transparent. The horizon is verry sharp, maybe a little bit of atmosphere or fog the next time...
