IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Caught up in a huge rip-tide, I almost lost my life. I have tremendous respect
for the sea and know its awesome strength and power. This image depicts that
strength and power -- and the beauty of the sea.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Everything in this image was done in Bryce4 and rendered in Bryce4 which is a
totally new program to me. To make the wave -- I took a lattice - now my
favorite object -- and experimented with it in the edit object area by going
into the filter section and selecting the KPT5 twirl until I felt it looked
like a wave. I then turned it on it's side to create my big wave. I added a
water material to the wave and added a water object. To add the foam and
turbulent water, I used more lattices with different cloud textures and
stretched and moved them around until they looked how I wanted. I wanted the
wave and water as my focal point of the image, so I experimented with the rock
textures, finally feeling that a dark rock would not take away from the wave.
