TITLE: The Texture Laboratory NAME: Mark Ritter COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: markelly@mindspring.com TOPIC: The Laboratory COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: texlab7.jpg RENDERER USED: POVRay 3.1 TOOLS USED: Moray, POVRay, Mechanical Desktop 5, sTile, 3DWin (graphics converter) RENDER TIME: about 4.5 hrs HARDWARE USED: Pentium 2 450, 384M RAM IMAGE DESCRIPTION: My idea of equipment that might be used in a laboratory that would make real textures. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Most of the equipment in the picture was done by converting models done in Mechanical Desktop 5 to 3DS format, the converting those to Moray UDO format using 3DWin. From there I simply used Moray to create the simpler objects. The textures were created through Corel, Moray's texture editor, and a neat little program called sTile that makes seamless textures. That is about it. I hope you enjoy it and any comments or criticisms are welcome.
