IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

It took me some time to think of an image that fitted the topic 'Contrast'.
I chose a scene from my favourite cartoon "The Maxx", where Julie holds Maxx
for one last time before she went away.
I like the contrast between the big purple Maxx and the small fragile Julie,
and Maxx is some kind of contrast himself because only in his fantasy world he
is some kind of super hero, where in reality he's just big and purple.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

In the weeks I spent creating this image I developed an intense love/hate
relationship with the sPatch program. I need the program to construct all the
1859 bicubic patches used in the image, but I could die happily if I never have
to use the program again...
I didn't think it was that difficult to create a human character. I didn't use
Poser or anything for it, I just built them from scratch with patches. And
especially the faces and hands were very difficult.
I'm still not very content with the result, it still looks way too simple and
not atmospheric enough, not enough like the comics. But it'll have to do...
