DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This is my Fifth entry. When I first learn of the subject for this round, I looked for churches in my old set of encyclopeda and found several. But I couldn't decide on a denomination to use and besides how many other contestants will do churches. Thinking about other places of woship some people like the mountains, some the sea, some the woods and of couse temples, walls, wells and so fourth. What do all of them have in common? The person who is worshiping, more specific the persons brain. That's how the idea came about. SCENE : I like to think of this scene as FOUND ART because it uses the random fuction to make the cells and place the firing synapes on the cells. The scene contains 272 objects, 4 lights, and used Focal Blur of POV and an AGATE normal on the camera. It's all contained in one relatively short POV file. Objects: Cells: There are 20 cells. They are all made from one basic (BLOB) cell shape. I made a function that I call REVERSE TREE that picks random points on the surface of sphere , sorts them into pairs, and makes connections back to the center of that sphere. I used 64 points with a radius of 40 POV units. With my function REVRSE TREE you can stop the progress toward the center any time ya want. So, I stop it at 4 points and use those points to hand make the cell's nucleus. synapes (as part of a cell) : I use 3 different MEDIA in spheres and put them on the cell using the RAND function. About 1/3 of the end point where coverd. I place the and rotated the cells by trial and error. Each with it's own texture. Lights: There's 4 lights of different colors scattered around for effect. All the lights use FADE to limit their effect. Zip-File: BRAIN.POV : THE POGRAM Epilgue: I had fun doing this. With my upgrade I tought that the rendering time whould lessen. This scene is my next to longest rendering time, 5 hours. My longest was a render for this contest. It had over 2,000 objects. It took 6 hours and when it was done it look way to flat. Instead of trying to fix it I started from scratch. Feel free to E-mail me with any comments and or suggests.
