The lamps are by far the best part of your image. I once used sPatch but
switched to my own custom macro-based parametric surface generator which I used
for my IRTC entry (The robe). Columns in the corners (difference of a surface
of revolution and carefully placed cylinders for fluting would work) as well as
niches and torches on the walls. Check out the T_Stone textures that came with
POV-Ray for floor and wall texture ideas.

Very good first effort. Yourr walls came out well. The monks seem a little flat,
kinda like Gumby, but modelling is a skill that will come with practice.
Keep up the good work!

From tony@awmcs.net:
Your monks look more like crosses. (This may have been intentional?) I would
fill them out a little more.

From johnson@pharmacy.arizona.edu:
A little simplistic, the MOnks arms need to be bent inward a little; they look
like large, chocolate celtic crosses in this image ;-)

From StephenF@whoever.com:
Nice shaping on the monks and lamps. You might want
to try a lower compression ratio when converting to JPG
format... there seems to be a lot of artifacting here.

From mwsny001@mweb.co.za:
The texture on the floor is a bit weird, maybe something plainer would have
worked better? The walls are good though.

From chris_hormann@gmx.de:
Interesting concept and atmosphere, sadly the picture sufferes much
from the compression, why did you pack it that strong?

=====
From youknow@ucan.foad.org:
Your monks are oddly cross-like, which if deliberate
is actually an interesting artistic choice. The bright
orange of the walls is a bit harsh, but does contrast
nicely with your blue sphere.

From albiaprime@aol.com:
Technical: Not bad for a first attempt, especially with not having the use of a
modeller. You should try using one (Moray works well with POV Ray and has a
demo version that will eventually 'nag' you)
Concept: Nice interpretation of the topic.

From delfeld@mailcity.com:
Epistemology:
The text file description helps, but it should not have to help. The image
should exist on it's own. Does this image in any way show something that I
would not have figured out already (and possibly rejected) in terrms of
worship?

Axiology:
Do monks really worship like this? Is this a natural symbol of focusing
attention, or did the idea dictate the placement without asking you?

Ontology:
All individuals in this image are enraptured, either with themselves or with the
lack of themselves. Why? If I were one of them, would I do it that way?
