Enter the Dead Sea Scolls. Anciently holy journals were kept regarding God's dealing with His children on earth and were recorded on parchment and in rare instances these have been preserved for us in our day. Thus we have scriptures which testify of Whom we should worship. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: This is a simple image, nothing too complex here but I like the atmosphere I was able to achieve. The cave was sculpted using Sculptor PPC. The Texuters were created in Painter. The the objects in the scene are a combination of extrusions (scroll), skinning (breastplate, sword) sweeps (clay pot), metaballs (sword handle, scroll handles) and deformations (helment, sword guard). The ragged worn look of the parchment is achieved with a combination of worn textures, bump map, stencil map, and corrosion texture (used to randomly rip holes in the paper). Two spot lights are used to achieve the holy light from above with a volumetric texture applied. There is also one omni light that is set to emulate an external light source.
