JPGFILE: webtmplx.jpg ZIPFILE: webtmplx.zip RENDERER USED: povray 3.0 (via Moray 3.1) TOOLS USED: none RENDER TIME: 3 hours 26 minutes HARDWARE USED: 450 MHz Pentium II IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A night scene of a neoclassic rotunda or temple housing an ornate glowing globe with a network of electricity or lightening surrounding it. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The temple is inspired partially by the roman.pov example scene and by the Jefferson memorial in Washington, D.C. with some significant differences. The scene was rendered by Persistance of Vision 3.0 with the aid of Moray 3.1. Most of the temple is composed to straight forward primatives, but the arches are a particularly complex combination of cylinders and cones. Please note how the arches at the tops of the columns mesh perfectly as viewed from inside and outside. Quite a number of POV features were used in this rendering including heightfield, text, bezier patches, sweeps, atmospherics, etc. Some moray library textures were used, however, most were "tweaked" and combined specifically for this scene. Textures were used as often as possible to reduce the number of extra GIF files that would be required to regenerate the rendering. There are fourteen light sources in the scene to create the flat moonlit appearance. The text object uses a common TrueType font (Futura extra black BT - tt0148m_.ttf) which has been included with the source files just in case.
