Three Pyramids sitting for centuries in the desert. A creature, maybe a monk or priest has lighted fires inside two golden vessels and kneels praying surrounded by all the four elements (you can find all if you seek). And is surrounded by elements of worship. A special constellation of the moons seen for millennia as a message from the higher spheres. The Pyramids symbols of time and seen as gateways to the heavens. Golden vessels with fire to create shining light and odour to please the gods. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: My first thought about worship were pyramids and since a pyramid is a quite simple object to be rendered I started with one. Then while adding and experimenting with light, bump-maps and atmodpheric media I set up the scene you can now see, adding a small story (above) for an explanation. This my fourth full scene (besides several contains-this-object-only scenes) and the first I ever brought to public. The only tool I really use in creating my objects and the scene is the Povray Texteditor where I write the scene object by object. Since I'm a software developer by profession I feel quite at home with this C-Like syntax. This latest images of mine contains almost evewrything I can render at the moment that is -simple objects like boxes, spheres and cylinder -atmospheres -fires -bump maps -textures -simple mesh objects -area light-sources I currently have quite a problem in creating more complex objects. As you might see I do everything with unions, differences and intersections (like the golden lamps). The pyramids are actually the first selfmade mesh objects I ever used. I think my next image will at least contain one height-field and maybe a more complex mesh. The moon constellation by the way is not complete yet (a real mystic constellation would be when the moons meet) but since the smaller moon is moving so fast on this particular planet I had to make this snapshot so quickly I missed the real event (sorry about that) ;-)
