DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: It is a test image for Dushan's POV-Ray patch which allows for automatical placement of objects. The cell tops are made of spheres placed on (invisible) hexagons and lifted according to onion texture. Similarly, the thorns on the lighters are layouted on the surface of a blob model. The eye lashes, cell walls, virus teeth, hairs, and the intracellular thingies are also placed using the patch. Other models are only a couple of blobs and csgs. The textures used were free on the net, I made some corrections to them in gimp. The eye texture is due Toni Bratincevic. The lighting is bad, but I ran out of time (the flu viruses got me). The image was ment to look quite different.
