JPGFILE: jpfortrd.jpg RENDERER USED: Cinema 4D Go 5 RENDER TIME: 41 minutes 26 seconds HARDWARE USED: Celeron 550, 160Mb RAM, 2Mb Graphics Card IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A post-modern army HQ fortress is attacked, and bombed by 3 aircraft. The aircraft have destroyed a sentry gun, and a supply crate, and the base's SAM sites have released missiles at the outgoing aircraft, one of which has already struck its target. Another one of the aircraft has released bombs over the entrance to the underground bunker. Also, there is a sentry gun shooting at incoming land vehicles, along with a double-mounted cannon turret emerging from the ground, one of which is in the process of firing. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Firstly, the lighting: The explosions are simply volumetric coloured lights, the two explosions reulting from bombs also used conical emitters with visible lights. The rocket trails were simply emitters, and whitey-grey visible tubular lights. Also, there is a white volumetric light in the cannon, and 4 coloured visible lights for the effect of the sentry gun firing. Also, there are two tubular visible lights for the illumination of the bunker. The bunker in the middle consists of a hemisphere, halved in height, with a boolean used to cut out the rectangular hole in it, and a textured plane used for the door. The modelling of the sentry gun is extremely simple, and consists almost entirely of textured cylinders, along with a cube, and extruded triangular splines for the base. Also, there is a very thin cone shapes light for the laser-sight. The planes consist mostly of loft nurbs and splines, and the engines are simply white textures with a glow effect. The SAMs are very basic consist of a cylinder, a hemisphere doubled in length, and two triangles for the flights. The alunchers are simply made out of primitive shapes, with a boolean used for where the missiles have been launched. The cannon turret is much more complex, and consist of arcs, splines, extrude and loft nurbs, and primitives, but I'm not going to go into too much detail.
