===== From BigTrav2001@chartermi.net: Great! I love the idea, and the textures make this really awesome. ===== From pixel_guy@hotmail.com: nice! ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Nice scene, if a bit simplistic... would have liked to have seen more small items on the tabletop. The clock looks great... the blurring of the display works well. Nice shaping on the phone and cord, although the cord looks a little flattened in spots. Good work overall, though. ===== From marlo.steed@home.com: Nice image and the lighting was good. What if the nightmare was on the bed rather than a desk? ===== From marcelocarvajal@ieee.org: The technical merit is undenyable, but your beetle needs more work. ===== From lrwii@janics.com: I like the phone and its cord. ===== From delfeld@mailcity.com: Well, your name seems to stand out, but the rest of the image is fairly weak. Try using lighting and shapes to accent important areas of the _image_, and not simply your name. However, I think your methods for investigating and creating the image are outstanding. This is a generic note about realism: Realism is nice, but why is realism significant artistically? Is there any other way(s) to represent more accurately, or more beautifully, which are not realistic methods? ===== From file: Very nice photo-realism. Two remarks though: first, the beetle doesn't appear to be resting on the table (its legs hover over the table). And second is the flaw all rendered images seem to have: it needs more noise, more irregularities. Rendered images are very often too clean. Notable for lighting, modelling, textures
