New Ankh-Morpok's commercial center, 2nd Floor, between the "Thieves Guild Repository" and the "Magical Items Store". Open from dawn till dusk. ========================================================================= Sure, this pic is not inspired from Tolkien's fantasy.... Some of you may have recognized Pratchett's style... and they are right. The starting point is a tought I have almost everytime I see a "standard" fantasy picture, with beautiful and (very) slightly clothed male and female warriors: "Where do they find their terrific (and often impractical) clothes ????" I've now got the answer... :) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The walls and furnitures ======================== - Wall paper (in french, "moquette murale"): 2 height fields, generated with POV script. - Floor: individual tiles, using blurred reflection. - Pay desk: CSG (using shearing transformations with "matrix" keyword) - Fitting room: CSG, except for the curtains, generated with POVMan's simcloth feature. - Shelves on the left: CSG, from my previous IRTC entry. Various objects and clothes =========================== - The cash box on the desk: CSG, with heavy use of matrix keyword. Much more detailed than necessary, it will be available in the "includes" section on my site. - Pens Pot near the cash box: CSG, from a previous IRTC entry (Contrast). - Wizard dresses: a Poser model (found at Renderosity), with depth scaled down, converted to a mesh with OBJUVPOV, and used several times with different textures and transformations (scale, rotate). Coathanger is CSG. - Wizard Hats: modelled in sPatch. - The Monokini "Handler" (?): CSG. - The Amazon Monokini: coathanger modelled in sPatch, exported in DXF format, and converted with Crossroads into 3 POV mesh; the piece of cloth comes from a simcloth simulation. - The Armor and the Dummy Model on the left: Poser models, exported into POV mesh2 format, using OBJUVPOV, and CSG'd (using Megapov's solid meshes feature). Characters ========== - the salesman: Michael model (from DAZ 3D), with various props found at Renderosity. - the female warrior: Victoria model (from DAZ 3D), with the gladiator set (DAZ 3D as well). Textures for both characters are also from DAZ 3D. Lighting, ... ============= 2 light sources with smooth shadows. MegaPOV's radiosity was used, even if it's not obvious.... For the source, just some POV scripts are available, for study purpose... No meshes or image maps are given, both for filesize and copyright issues...
