I really think this earns some artistic merit, and also is a good interpretion
of the theme.

On the technical side, I think over-packing this scene with objects wouldn't do
it any good, but maybe some more details. Maybe a body to the dragon-head, or a
not-smooth surface to the foreground rocks.

Though it is difficult to tell what the objects are specifically, the general
composition is excellent.  I looked at this image for a long time, despite not
liking the theme very much . . . much like looking at Degas' paintings, in that
sense.  Even if it is accidental, there is good use of shadows which repeat the
shapes of the teeth, and the contrast between the cicular fog against the more
triangular jaws and border.  
Shows a RELATIVELY creative use of theme, though this is not the limit of
fantasy or mystics.

Seems overly bright to me, but the cowled figures and 
the media effect look good.  The monster seems a bit 
simplistic in both shape and texture.  Nice mood to this 
one, though.
