IMAGE DESCRIPTION: 

My image is a sourcerers staff projecting images of planets out from the gem in
the centre

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

I made the staff itself out of Nurbs tubes by extracting the points. The "flame"
was made using a plane with a spark like texture parented to a particle emitter
and dupliverts turned on to give a more rounded look, the particles were
deformed by a lattice. The planets were icospheres with a halo texture and the
light reaching out to them is a spotlight withe halo turned on.
