===== From nitro_glis@yahoo.com: the sea looks a little 'grainy' lost ya a point in art, but the tech is high enough on this one to compensate :) ===== From ruy@hipernet.com.br: So, I guess you missed the fantasy round. ===== From philip.chan@home.com: The detail on the sword and the stone is excellent. I also like the textures used for the sky and ground. The stone phong (or specular) highlight on the stone is too strong. It looks too shiny to be stone. ===== From lrwii@joplin.com: Nice first try! A few tall weeds would help. ===== From StephenF@whoever.com: Not another sword in a stone! (just kidding). Very impressive for a first entry. The tiling on the stone wall works well... even when I look for it I can't really make it out at all. Sky has a nice foreboding look to it. Love the stone in the lower left corner. The sword seems a little flat, and the texture on the tombstone (?) is a bit shiny... but still, a very nice scene overall. Looking forward to seeing more work from the artist. ===== From gmccarter@hotmail.com: Good modeling, textures, and lighting on the sword make it seem very metallic. ===== From tm-ray@consistent.org: The sword is excellent (it doesn't rust outside because it's magic, right?) The clouds are good, but the transition between the clouds and blue sky seems unrealistic. I don't care for the ground; I think you'd do better to use actual blades of grass instead of just the texture if you want grass, and it's not quite the right color to be moss. As you seem to realize, the connection to the topic is tenuous. I would have preferred to see a more direct tie-in between the sword and the subsequent wars. ===== From r@client121041.atl.attbroadband.com: Notable for lighting, textures, originality
