I like the overall image, and your intended meaning comes across well
(not the details about the peace sympol having been thrust; I thought
it had just fallen when the protestor was shot, but the general idea
is there).  The rifle was not obvious; I initially thought it was a
table leg.  I don't care for the military man's clothing.  I think he
should either have shiny black shoes and a black suit ("men in black"
Gestapo/FBI sort of image), or boots and olive drab BDUs.  I've never
seen any military/police types wear the semi-casual shoes and grey
suit you depict.

An ejected brass casing would be a lovely addition.
