===== From jouni@mikrobitti.fi: The most prominent problem in your image is the use of colors. Such violent color changes easily make the image restless, which is the problem for you too. Both the robot and the background are too gaudy for me. The balance would've been considerably better, had you made the ground a little less eye-catching and left the robot to get the glances. Even with the technicalities fixed, I would've had trouble scoring you high due to the low adherence to the topic. I understand you pulled the ideas from your line of thought about Asia, but the image reflects pretty little of what's Asian (apart from the Japanese flag). But hey, keep on working. You'll make progress, slowly but surely. ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: Keep on working on it. ===== From lrwii@joplin.com: Glad to have ya back. The robot looks small. You could move the camera down and closer to make it look ' Gaint'. When you do this also scale down the flag. I like the comments in your text file. You took one through the process of making your picture. I was like you the frist few pictures scored around 9. I still haven't broke 12 yet. But I learned on thing, that you got 2 months to work in, use it. ===== From chris_hormann@gmx.de: I think for such a submission negative (or better imaginary) scores should be allowed. ;-) At least i had much fun reading your text. One idea: If you switch the textures of robot and ground and maybe also those of flag and sky this might add much to realism. Of course it would be off-topic then. ===== From peter@table76.demon.co.uk: My approach to not being ready to make raytraced people was to make posable teddy bears and other toys; maybe you could start with something simpler like Astro Boy and work up to more-detailed anime characters? ===== From r@proxy1.ntu.edu.sg: Poor picture. Do you think that Japan militia power can well represent the Asia? God damn the Japanese militia. Remeber who bombed Pearl Harbour? How about Nanjing masacre?? ===== From r@proxy1.ntu.edu.sg: Poor picture. Do you think that Japan militia power can well represent the Asia? God damn the Japanese militia.
