TITLE: Lost on the Great Silk Path NAME: Artur Tchoukanov COUNTRY: Canada EMAIL: artur83@hotmail.com TOPIC: Spirit of Asia COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: silk.jpg RENDERER USED: Zbrush (high quality) renderer TOOLS USED: ZBrush Demo, Rhino3d RENDER TIME: 2.00 mins HARDWARE USED: PentiumII, 350Mhz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Since my country of origin is Kazakhstan, I heard all about the great Silk Path that runs through a major part of Asia, from China, to Europe through the middle. A chineese woman snuck some silk worms into her hair and exported them along that route. in those time, silk exportation was done by China, and these was a prohibition on exporting the silk worms. This image illustrates one of those worms cocooned in the remains of what seems to be a wooden frame, where they were usualy grown(then boiled) DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: I downloaded the Demo of ZBrush(which is an amazing tool) and started fooling around with it, i did my Pre-Modeling with Rhino3d, but it's tough to get it rendered good, and a hassle to create organic shapes. (I think I went a long way since my 1999 competition of Imaginary World transdes :-))
