Why's the alien in a cage? I think the idea behind this image hasn't had a lot of though put in. But it is a nice picture and the modelling is good.

From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com:
Inside or outside of the cage doesn't really seem to matter, in this case.

You signature jumps out too much for my taste

This is good for your first entry. But you may want to improve texturing the next time around. Also the scene looks almost too void. A scene does not have to be empty to give a feeling of loneliness. I hope to see work from you again in the next round.

imprisoned and... blurry.

good but the light was unessesary, if he has light and courage then he's not lonely.

welcome aboard - well done to you with the scanline-renderer of max4. nice shadow casting, but you'll have to work out the textures on ground (looks stretched.)

Good-looking picture.

I like the moon, fog, and cage. Wouldn't the bright
star above the cage light the whole surface?

From glenn@mccarters.net:
Vaguely unsatisfying. Seems to be more an excercise in light and shadow =
than loneliness -- the alien figure is not very visible. Suggestions: =
try making the moon and the title/signature smaller.

I like how you have done the lighting for this scene, and
posed the alien so he is reaching toward the light. I
would like to see a stronger, more visible starfield in the
background.

From StephenF@whoever.com:
Nice work for a first entry. The light effect is
interesting, but it seems a bit overdone... it draws my
attention to it and away from the more important aspects
of the scene. The distant planet looks good.

Interesting. I like the light and shadows, but the alien is
too washed out.
