Nice clouds. The water could be darker.

From tek@evilsuperbrain.com:
That's really cute! :)
The landscape shape and the trees are exactly how I'd imagine things when I was
a kid. It's very simple but it works well.

From shay@simcoparts.com:
The textures and lighting look flat, but the scene looks very deep. Your
heightfield and camera placement give the landscape several distinct areas,
which is very nice. With smaller trees, this would look like a very large and
interesting landscape.

cute

I don't think any serious attempt has been made here. The composition has
possibilities though. I don't know how long Marcus has been using Povray, but I
suggest that a couple more months might see some good images.

From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com:
Fun to watch (it made me quite happy, for some reason, especially those cute
little coloured flowers) and within topic.

From rich@brickbots.com:
I like the look of this entry very much, my only
suggestion would be to add a few trees of different
color, or (forgive me POV-Ray is not the renderer I am
familiar with) overlay a large scale noise pattern to add
variation between groups of trees.

From batronyx@alliancecable.net:
This scene is well composed.

From charliemc@prodigy.net:
i don't think you're giving povray credit for all it can do as a landscape
modeler

From nealdelfeld@yahoo.com:
Nice trees.
The colors work well, and the fading is effective. But I like the trees best.
=====
From chris_hormann@gmx.de:
Although the trees are somewhat abstract it does not look bad, a bit like the
style you sometimes see in children's books.

=====
From clem@dhol.org:
Interesting "model train landscape" style art.
Reminiscent of some Grant Woods landscapes.

=====
From jimbobjim@blueyonder.co.uk:
This is a good start, the composition is good - as a post
contest project why not consider adding more detail and
variation to the trees.

=====
From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The cartoonish effect is achieved fairly well in this
scene (especially with the clouds). Some of the tree
tops look awkward as they have "stray" blob
components that seem to stick out a little too far to be
"treelike."

From hgregory3a@aol.com:
that is an impressive forest even for just blobs. nice effort
