It's very good for a first entry. Though I'm not sure a tree could grow at that
angle!

My only suggestion to improve it would be to add lots more details, e.g. more
plants, animals, boats, scenery. All the things that are in the scene look
good.

Wow, very nice! Particularly the sky & plants. There is a visible line where the
water goes from heightfield to plane, extending the heightfield probably would
fix.

Esthetically this image is very beautiful.  However, I think it is marginally
off-topic; the addition of a (carefully chosen) new element could probably have
brought it much nearer to the theme.  Moreover, I find it disturbing for the
castle to be so empty.

Very nice image.  I like the detail of the plants.  The theme 
element (the incipient ripple) is appropriate and quite 
subtle.  To tell the truth, it is so subtle that I would have 
missed it without the text file.  Putting the focus more 
clearly on that instead of the scenery might have helped 
avoid potential "off topic" comments.  Perhaps a falling 
leaf just about to hit the water instead of the apparently 
static branch would have gotten the idea across better.  I 
like the castle, but it seems awfully open for an obviously 
fortified (crenellations, towers) building.  Real castle 
proprietors, to avoid giving attackers cover, would have 
cut down the trees too, but c'est la artistic license (if the 
French will forgive me for mangling their language).  The 
colors of the sky are very wel done.

A wonderful scene and an excellent tree. I love the way the leaf is
dipping into the water. The castle in the distance is beautiful and,
combined with the pink glow in the sky, provides a peaceful backdrop 
for a scene that captures a magical frozen moment perfectly. I_m not 
sure a real tree would grow out sideways that far; it struck me as 
odd and it took me a while to get beyond that.
