IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

The axe, in one form or another, has been around since
the stone age.
The hammer and wedges technology would have been used by the ancient Egyptians.
The two-man crosscut saw has been in use for several hundred years. The canvass
waterbag was once very common in Australia; the technology of evaporative
cooling would be very old too. This is all Old Technology.
This scene was created from memory. Sad to say, this
is how we used to get our logs. Later we got a chainsaw but the rest remained
the same for many years.
I didn't put the draft-horses in. That would be beyond my image making skill. I
wish that I had taken more photos in those days but it was all so "everyday"
that there didn't seem to be any point.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

This is an all new image, hand coded. It uses simple
CSG. I think that sphere-sweep ( very handy ) is the only thing that wasn't
available in earlier versions of Povray. Stacked planes for the clouds; the
ground is height fields made from "wrinkles" in Povray. Fog was used to give a
trace of campfire smoke. An area light softened the shadows a little.
While-loops were used for the weeds and foliage ( the pinnacle of my skill ).
Extensive use of sphere sweep for trees and bark seems to have been the reason
for the surprisingly long render time. I might have made a few small changes to
detail but didn't want to face the long render time again.
                            Pov-file submitted.
