===== From rgow@lanset.com: Er... I think one was enough. ===== From maarten_hofman@hotmail.com: Strange artefacts... Are they from compressing the image? Also, the water seems a bit out of scale compared to the rest. But obviously the focus is the bridge, and its architecture, which was a good choice. ===== From tek@evilsuperbrain.com: You've made good use of simple elements, the sky fits the lighting really well and the darkness of the distant hills is effective. That water surface is amazing. It doesn't look at all realistic for this scale, but it looks fascinatingly surreal, almost like glass. A few criticisms: the suspension cables curve the wrong way just before meeting the tower, this makes it look like they're not taking the weight of the bridge. I've not seen the real bridge, but I'm guessing it shouldn't be one completely flat shade of green all over, some weathering on the textures would be good. The other thing is the camera position, which makes all the objects look like toys. You'd get a better sense of scale if you had something close to the camera or put the camera lower down (e.g. on a boat looking up at the bridge). ===== From xilo_m@hotpop.com: You're on the right track to make beautiful images, but unfortunately you don't seem to have an artistic sense... An artistic image would have movement, would tell a story, have a past and a future... and all this in a still image... When looking at your picture, I see a very nice render of a blue-print! Try working on the concept of you future IRTC submissions! ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: This image is good in some ways and somehow not in others. What am I saying.... well the reflection in the water and the sky look like a match. The water has many of the traits of water but does not look natural. One of the other problems is that the dark boat is not picking up any light while the bridge is getting tons of light from the same direction - a bit of dissonance there. ===== From hildurka@simnet.is: This one was submitted four times, probably by mistake. So I make the same comments for all. This scene is rendered far too small, it is difficult to make out the details, besides there are prominent artifacts, due to jpeg compression. The solution would be to render in higher resolution. The bridge seemes to have a great deal of detail, nice landscapes. The waves on the water are too big and out of proportions with the rest. The sailboat looks good however. I can barely make out the outlines of a ship, why is it so black? According to the outlines it is fairly detailed. The composition is good, you are on the right track. ===== From jjaguar@worldnet.att.net: Small size and jpeg artifacts really hurt the image. You only used 17k of the 250k allowable file size, you may do better in the future by rendering at a larger size and using lower compression values to produce a sharper picture.
