===== From jon@vulpecula.us: I really like this. You did a great job of creating a truly Surreal picture. Only problem is...too bad you didn't save this image for the July-August round (topic: Surrealism). I'm not sure that surrealism is necessarily "mystery." It is mysterious in a way though...you feel something important is being conveyed by the image, you just aren't sure what. I really like the train and the balloons. ===== From helene.dumur@free.fr: A very good picture for the next topic... surrealism ! ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Good image, very nicely done! Connection to topic is weak though... I think you made this one round too soon! ===== From thegreatbambeeno@yahoo.com: whatever ===== From hildurka@simnet.is: The composition of this image is wonderful. I think you really succeded in your efforts. Great work! ===== From somers@w-link.net: The grass looks very good. train in the background adds a nice touch. people look very nice. WHERE is the mystery? ===== From pbrasolin@yahoo.it: It's really a good image. The first thing I thought was "who's that woman?". After looking for details i noticed the man and the photo... maybe the same person? The train and the aerostatic ballons give the scene a sense of... tension. The house seems to be... strange: no doors, no stairs, a strange illumination and an unreachable room on the first floor. The bent house fence is a nice detail. The grass and the pavement look great. Also the sky is very good. In my opinion, you've reached your objective. PB ===== From info@michaelscholz.de: Nicely done, among my favourite :-) ===== From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com: The colors in this image match surreal work quite well. Though I_m not sure someone would think _Mystery_ from looking at this image. P.S. Bet you can guess what the current IRTC topic is J ===== From zio_tom78@hotmail.com: I do not fully understands the link with the current topic. The train and the sofa are very good! I bet you will join next IRTC round... ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The grass is done very well. The trick of fading works well as the switch from the true grass to the simple texture is not noticalbe. I find the texture for the bridge looks somewhat out of place in the scene when compared to the other textures as it is too uniform in colour. As for the difficulties you had with the for and sky, does 3D Studio Max not have "ground fog"? (Fog with a density which varies along the y axis.) ===== From emediez@emediez.com: Congratulations! A -truly- surreal scene, whose reasoning I agree with completely. Although it seems mismatched with the -now- current topic, the validity of the topic is alive and well in this interpretation. I love it. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: This looks very much like a Magritte or Delvaux. Good consistent style = throughout the scene. Obviously it would fit "surrealism" better than = "mystery" though! I think the image would be improved if the building on the left was not = directly visible -- it de-emphasizes the main building (and the trumpet = man) too much. For some reason I don't like that the tether anchors for = the balloons are hidden . Odd lighting (look at the shadows carefully), = but it works well. The train and Victorian room are superb. Nice = touches like the stains under the windows. Maybe you didn't "break any laws of physics", but I cannot imagine how = to get to the upper floor! ===== From file: very cool ===== From file: I like this picture - lots of interesting things to look at. I had a hard time adjusting my monitor to see the figure in the shadows, however. I did not notice him at first glance - he blends into the wall too much. Would be a good picture for the "Surrealism" round. :) Notable for textures, composition
