===== From shevlin@uic.edu: The figurine is well modeled, but the rest of the scene detracts from it; the high brightness and reflections everywhere tend to detract from the figurine. Other details in the scene would make it more interesting. How does this relate to the topic? ===== From marlo.steed@uleth.ca: The concept is not bad. The glass actaully looks pretty good to me. Where the image breaks down is the rest of background. The floor, ceiling, and surroundings just don't look very real. I think that would have helped. ===== From rgow@lanset.com: Good concept, nice image. Wood texture needs a better finish, maybe some specular & reflection. ===== From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com: Very interesting lighting effects going on. However, the scene looks as though it is missing anti-aliasing. ===== From p_chan@shaw.ca: The griffin is done fairly well, but I find it's lacks a certain brightness or sparkle. I think it might be the brightness of the background which causes the refraction effect to look more like tinted glass than the effect of light shining on the griffin. ===== From skirsch@comcast.net: I love the griffin ... ===== From file: The facets on the surface lead to strange dark artefacts in the glass. There's too much light in the background. That spoils the effect of th repeated figurines because the third row already is almost invisible. Notable for modelling ===== From file: Yeh, it's quite interesting. Not sure about the whole crystal effect though, maybe it would have been better as the 'real' thing - with scales etc. It would have been harder though I admit - I was stumped this round because I can't do animal/people textures very well. So I had to resort to stonehenge. Not bad considering how hard this round was if you share my opinion on textures.
