The image is visually stunning, but breaks down under close scrutiny.  The
static background image does not relate to the foreground (the background
appears to be underground while the foreground is outdoors), plus the lighting
in the foreground does not commute to the background, giving rise to an eerie
feeling of something not being quite right.  The background also doesn't seem
to be in focus consistantly with the foreground.  Overally, the foreground
models are quite impressive, but the static background kills the image.

Nice use of color and detail (the dust being kicked up by the chimaera and the
texture on the rocks are two of my favorite details).  Very pleasant image to
look at.  My top choice this round.

bring contrast to the foreground figures and they have incredible detail and

The modelling is done very well, although the feathers 
seem a bit too stiff/solid.  I find the background does 
not blend well with the 3D elements in the scene, 
probably because it was created separately.

This is simply the best image in this round - great work. Oh, and I've got that
book as well - it was a great source of inspiration and the first place I
looked when I found the topic was myths and legends. Yours is much better than
the one in the book though.
