TITLE: The Incredible Shrinking Man NAME: Ralf Treuherz COUNTRY: Germany EMAIL: ralf@treuherz.de WEBPAGE: http://www.treuherz.de/ralf/raytracing TOPIC: Epic Proportions COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: incsm.jpg RENDERER USED: Creative Studio 3D (similar to Maxon Cinema 4D GO) TOOLS USED: Paint Shop Pro for the Logo RENDER TIME: 15 min HARDWARE USED: PC with Athlon 64 IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A man was exposed to some strange sort of radiation and is now shrinking continiously. This is the moment where he is so small that a simple spider is so big that it is a deadly foe and he needs to fight for his life with a needle he found. Inspiration came from the idea that BIG is relative, and as a huge fan of the films of Jack Arnold I created this image that could be right from his movie "The Incredible Shrinking Man". DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The man is a poser figure (what else), the rest is simple CSG. The hair for the spider was created with the Creative Studio plugin CineHair SE, which is really cool. I scanned many textures for the sewing box to get it realistic. Unfortunately I began too late to refine everything, so this is not the best picture, but I simply had to submit it because I liked the idea so much !
