IMAGE DESCRIPTION: 

The temptation of St Anthony is a classic subject of both art and fiction. Most
depictions focus on St Anthony's florid visions as he fasted in the desert. One
of my favourite versions of the story is Flaubert's, where the visions are
internalised. 
The St Anthony in this image has passed through his visions,  and lies on the
sand cleansed and empty.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 

The sand and the ground are isosurfaces, based on the excellent examples in the
Isosurface Tutorial (http://www.econym.demon.co.uk/isotut/).
The bricks were modelled in Wings3D and converted using 3DWin.
The brick, sand and ground textures are based on textures created by Thomas de
Groot. I have included his include file as I found it on the net.
The figure was made in Poser, with a texture made in Povray as I haven't yet
grasped uv mapping.
