This is the better of your two entries IMO, because the appearance of a pathway through the rocks draws the viewer into the image. This one does show one of the disadvantages of Terragen though, in that the close-up parts show distinctly polygonal edges and shapes.

I like this one a bit more than your other version.  I like how the hills take up more of the screen; the make for a more dynamic image (if dynamic is the word to use).  A bit higher resolution on the mesh would be nice if possible... I'm not overly familiar with Terragen, so I'm not sure if that can be done.

Nice image, good shapes and textures.  The large black border takes away from the image though, not sure why you use it.
