JPGFILE: jhk_toy.jpg ZIPFILE: jhk_toy.zip RENDERER USED: POV-Ray v3.6.1 / MegaPov v1.1 TOOLS USED: XEmacs w/ pov-mode.el GIMP v2 for auto-stretching contrast and slight brightness/contrast adjustment. Unprocessed rendering output is included in the source .zip RENDER TIME: Too long HARDWARE USED: 1.7GHz Pentium-M, 512MB DDR IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Two real-world toys that begged to get ray traced. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: During the last year my fascination with ray tracing and POV-Ray has been rekindled to the point I made the decision to finally participate in IRTC. The day I found out about the 'Toys' topic I was going through some drawers in my childhood house, and these two toys just popped up within my reach. You know how it goes. All the modelling is very simple CSG. In fact, I've started to think of this image as my 'first post', even as it's appearing on the IRTC and not the forums. The final image with lots of photons and insufficient radiosity samples took ages and ages to render (something like 4 days on a P-M 1.7), and the results shows radiosity artefacts... I'll try to do better on the next round.
