JPGFILE: scrubble.jpg ZIPFILE: scrubble.zip RENDERER USED: POV-Ray 3.6 TOOLS USED: Vim 6.1 for coding The GIMP 1.2.5 for textures Photoshop 6.0 for textures & image conversion Notepad to write this wonderful text file RENDER TIME: 3h 8m 12s HARDWARE USED: Pentium II Laptop for creation & test renders, Pentium 4 desktop for touch-ups and final render IMAGE DESCRIPTION: A Scrabble game, based on my "Deluxe Turnable" Scrabble set. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: Most of the work on this image was done on an old Compaq Armada Pentium II I have running RedHat 8. I had nothing better to do than to sit around and model the first thing I saw (the weather was crappy anyways), so I did. Nobody wanted to play Scrabble with me anyways. 1200 lines of code later this appeared. I've included the source because I couldn't think of a reason not too, though a lot of it is there exclusively to make test renders faster and/or because I can't make up my mind and don't like to delete things. You can try to decrypt it if you feel like it. Most of the textures are image maps because a) I suck at texturing and b) I am lazy. The final image was rendered with POV-Ray 3.6 under Windows XP in just over 3 hours, using radiosity and focal blur. I did leave it to the last minute, and I consider it unfinished, and slightly rushed. There is a lot more I could have added to it (and maybe I will later), but at the time of this writing I have just under 4 hours until the competition deadline :D
