JPGFILE: lost1.jpg ZIPFILE: lost1.zip RENDERER USED: ART 0.11 (self-written) TOOLS USED: Visual C++ (to write the raytracer) RENDER TIME: 7h20m52s HARDWARE USED: PIII 450Mhz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: The image shows a girl lying on a hospital bed, obviously sick and unhappy, And she's floating in a very happy colourful surrounding with grass, flowers and a bright blue sky. This surrounding is her imagination, her way of dealing with the unhappiness of the hospital she's in. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The bed and the girl are all basic shapes. Circles, cylinders, cubes, etc. The bed is reflecting a hospital room. This room is rendered in such a way that it can only be seen in a reflection. The surrounding hills with grass and flowers is all one big hypertexture. There are some errors visible in it because I didn't have enough time for the final render. The red flowers are cut in half and some of the grassblades are melted together because the hypertexture rendering stepsize was still too large. Also there's a weird cutout on the hill because of an octree algorithm that went a bit wrong. That's the risk of writing your own renderer =)
