IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

Not everyone can stand the endless, dreary trudging that seeems to be the norm
for the mannequins inhabiting OwingAHeavyDebtToEscher Land. He might stick out
like a sore thumb, but one mannequin's going to add some colour to himself and
defy the system!

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

The modelling and texturing were deliberately kept simple for the sake of
etiquette, there's no bevelling or sub-patching at all. Texture maps, where
they exist, are bleached out to provide a uniformly bland background for our
colourful little hero. I don't know if POV-Ray offers HDRI lighting or not but
I really like HDRIs for outdoor scenes, so I used a freeware sky image,
courtesy of http://lfgrafix.com (with kind permission) plus a single area light
to act as the sun.

Unfortunately, the basic mannequin mesh is one I downloaded from a free site
some years ago. I've had a look around the net but haven't been able to track
it down, and suspect the site itself has either changed its name or is no more.
I've therefore not been able to gain permission to use it - sorry! I hope this
doesn't invalidate the picture.

The idea of having a single mannequin covered in bright colours contrasting with
his peers is one I had a year or so ago, in the original plan, the mannequins
were all standing in parade-ground ranks on a bookshelf. However, the notion of
a townscape seemed more interesting. Anyone familiar with Escher's work will
recognise most of the components in the picture, hopefully it will be seen as a
tribute rather than a shameless ripoff! My reference pictures came from
http://www.mcescher.com/.

This is my first submission to irtc.org, so I hope I've filled this out
properly! Apologies if I haven't.
