Heh heh, great concept!  Good composition & lighting.  As you note, tree trunk texture is lacking, although its a good step in the right direction. IMO just scaling it along the y axis would help.

Original development of an old idea. A pity that the textures are not up to a better standard. For the tree, I think POVtree would have been the right choice as the textures would have come out better immediately.
