Since I'm a physicist I think that the closest image to the idea of opposites
for me is that of two opposite electric poles.


DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: 


The battery is the union of two concentric cylinders. The outer cilinder is
capped with a torus on both ends. The inner cylinder makes the positive pole
contact.
The textures used are part of the POV-Ray include files metals.inc and
golds.inc.
