I'd suggest it would look more like ice with some refraction, although on a planetary scale I'd expect it to just look white, particularly if formed from lots of seperate particles. Also the physics behind this concept are very dubious, but it's a nice sci-fi idea.

Simple but effective.  Perhaps the planet core could have been a bit more orange and the stars less clustered.  Still great though.

The concept works well.  Not sure about the star field - doesn't look quite right to me but the image a certain aesthetic appeal - nicely done.
