===== From rich@brickbots.com: This is a very nice entry. Interesting concept, and good composition. I especially like the support structures leading into the water, and the reflection on the gently rolling water. I think two subtle changes could have really helped this entry. First would be to bevel (chamfer) all of your edges. No object in the world has perfectly square corners, especially large/old/beat-up objects. You can sometimes get away with this for very distant objects, but anything large or close-up needs to have some sort of rounded corner. Adding a small bevel or chamfer creates a highlight at the corners and helps defeat that overall 'CG' feel. The textures you created were very nice, but for the foreground building modeling the bricks would have been a better choice. The brown stucco works well, and the brick texture is good, but it falls apart at the corners where the brick would actually break up the sillouette. ===== From hildurka@simnet.is: Good composition, nice image overall. Maybe the background is a little bit unclear, maybe that_s intentional. Also the text file is very lacking of description. I would like to know more about the concept and the idea behind this image. Still very good work! ===== From dungbeatle@mail.tds.net: Interesting image. ===== From sshelby@shelbyvision.com: Very imaginative. ===== From simon_smith@zen.co.uk: I like it, it's nicely surreal, but I feel your use of fog is only a subtle enhancement of the scene, not a key feature. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: Very imaginative setting. ===== From file: what a cool idea. perhaps showing the source of light would have better utilized the light theme. nice work on the texture on the structure to the right, but the wood on the ramps looks a little like plastic. nice use of a difficult theme for originality. Notable for composition, textures, lighting
