TITLE: Megalithic NAME: Rick Wedgeworth COUNTRY: USA EMAIL: wedge@dancris.com WEBPAGE: N/A TOPIC: Light and Fog COPYRIGHT: I SUBMIT TO THE STANDARD RAYTRACING COMPETITION COPYRIGHT. JPGFILE: megalith.jpg ZIPFILE: megalith.zip RENDERER USED: PovRay 3.6 TOOLS USED: PovRay 3.6 RENDER TIME: 36 mins 48 secs HARDWARE USED: Pentium 4 - 3.2GHz IMAGE DESCRIPTION: 'Twas a midsummer's morn at the site, and though the earlier fog had begun to recede, a pocket seemed to linger, and seemed to actually expand and even glow from within the site itself. Unfortunately my camera batteries had been spent, but, to capture this event, thankfully I had with me my trusty laptop loaded with PovRay. I quickly modeled the scene in front of me as accurately as I could. Here is the scene as best as I could manage. Lucky coincidence this month's IRTC topic. DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED: The stones and ground are height fields with various textures applied for interest. The sky is made of various simple objects with material maps.
