===== From helene.dumur@free.fr: Smoke or Fog ?? ===== From rich@brickbots.com: Vray is such a nice renderer, and you created a very nice piece in a limted amount of time. As you stated, the models are a bit simple, and that would be my main comment. A great renderer like Vray really screams for detailed models to bounce photons around with. Bevel your edges, and model the brick, or use displacement maps. The composition is nice, and the addition of the fire extinguisher tells a nice store. It might have been interesting to tilt the camera (dutch angle) to add a bit more disorientation and drama to the image. It's a shame you did not have more time, as it would have really take it to the next level. ===== From dungbeatle@mail.tds.net: To me, smoke isn't fog. Still, I like the picture. ===== From sshelby@shelbyvision.com: It looks to me like you tweaked just enough. Very well done. ===== From simon_smith@zen.co.uk: Extra points for getting such a convincing smoke effect without using time-consuming media. I particularly like the lighting, the white of safety and the menacing yellow of the fire. The puddle of liquid from the discarded extinguisher is a good touch. ===== From glenn@mccarters.net: I like this image! The situation emerges slowly in the viewer's mind. = First, we see a figure hurrying along. We wonder why it's foggy inside = the building. Then we see the "LAB" sign and the misplaced fire = extinguisher. Suddenly, the story is complete. Good soft shadows on the ceiling. The only flaw? Obviously the image is about "smoke" not "fog". ===== From file: nice realism, lighting, composition. props for originality, but really smoky and foggy aren't the same thing. Notable for lighting, composition
