DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

Well, the main feature is certainly the toilet roll, which took hours
to model and texture. I encountered some unexpected difficulties with
the "spiral edge" which is a result of rolling up the original sheet
shaped like a parallelogram. A spiral normal pattern didn't look
good, CSG objects were difficult to bend in a spiral shape and an
isosurface was not suitable because the edge is by definition
not smooth. In the end, I modelled only a slice of the roll, where
the edge is approximately linear, and glued multiple rotated copies
of that slice together.

A bathroom setting followed sort of logically, requiring tiled
walls and some sanitary objects. The newspaper provided for an
enhanced toilet look & feel without actually having to model
parts of the scene people would rather not see anyway.

A slight focal blur emphasizes the main object of interest; area
lights and a few stray photons increase the realism of the scene.
