Original interpretation of the theme. One thing bothers me: Where is the King??
His body has been spirited away! While this explains the "absence", it runs a
bit counter to the murder concept itself. One remains with the feeling that
something is wrong. Perhaps, you should add a bloody trail to suggest that he
crawled away?
Anyway. The chess pieces are well done; the table cloth could be a little bit
more elaborated with creases/folds and a more interesting texture.

I really like this image for its concept, and its attention to detail. The
details in the image are wonderful, especially the way the white king's blood
is pooled along the seam in the chess board. I also appreciate how the pieces
aren't square in the center of their squares.
